Recent Sussex Discovery: Antique & Vintage Gold Timepieces

19th-century 18ct gold pocket watch and early 20th-century 9ct gold vintage wristwatch purchased during a private home valuation visit in Sussex by Antiques of Sussex.

I purchased this 19th-century 18ct gold pocket watch and early 20th-century 9ct gold wristwatch during a recent private home visit in Sussex.

Historic watches are often inherited and stored away for many years. I look at the case, hallmarks, movement, maker, condition and precious-metal content to help explain what the watch is and what may influence its value.

Frequently Asked Questions for Selling Valuables in Worthing

My parents are moving into a smaller home in Worthing and we need to clear their house. Can you help?

Yes, absolutely. This is a core part of my service. I provide a no-obligation valuation service that can help you identify valuable items before a house clearance, ensuring nothing of value is accidentally thrown away. I can assess entire collections in a single visit.

I live in a flat on the seafront with difficult parking. Can you still do a home visit?

Yes, certainly. I am very accustomed to visiting properties in all parts of Worthing. If you let me know the parking situation when you book, I can plan accordingly. It is not a problem.

I have a collection of old seaside-themed art and postcards. Are they worth anything?

They can be. The value of ephemera like postcards depends heavily on age, rarity, and condition. While many are not valuable, some early 20th-century or rare-artist postcards can be. I am happy to take a look as part of a wider valuation of your items.
