​Below are answers to some of the questions I am most often asked about selling antiques, jewellery, silver, watches and other valuables to Antiques of Sussex.

1. What items do you buy?

I buy a wide range of antiques and valuables, including:

• Gold and silver jewellery, modern or antique

• Watches, including Rolex, Cartier, Omega and others

• Coins and medals

• Silverware and flatware

• Sculptures and decorative art

• Collectables and rare items

2. How do I sell my items to you?

I work by appointment only, ensuring privacy and personal attention. You can arrange an appointment at my Haywards Heath office or request a free private home visit.

Once I have looked at your items, I will provide a free valuation with no obligation to sell.

 

3. How quickly will I be paid?

If you accept my offer, payment is made by secure bank transfer. I make sure the money is in your account before I leave.

 

4. Do you charge any fees or commissions?

No. If I buy your items directly, there are no seller commissions or auction-house fees deducted from the agreed purchase price. You receive the full amount we agree.

 

5. Are valuations free?

Yes. My valuations are free of charge and there is no obligation to sell.

 

6. How do I know I’m getting a fair price?

I have more than 30 years’ experience in the antiques, jewellery and precious-metals trade. I assess items based on factors such as condition, age, maker, craftsmanship, precious-metal content and current market demand. If I am interested in buying an item, I will explain what I can see and make a straightforward offer.

 

7. Is the process confidential?

Yes. All enquiries, appointments and transactions are treated privately and confidentially.

 

8. Can you visit me at home?

Yes. I offer free private home visits across much of East and West Sussex and selected surrounding areas. A home visit can be especially useful if you have a larger collection, inherited items or simply prefer the privacy and convenience of your own home.

9. What areas do you cover?

Antiques of Sussex is based in Haywards Heath, West Sussex.

I offer free private home visits across much of East and West Sussex and selected surrounding areas. For suitable items, I may also be able to travel further afield.
